Last years christmas was my second best christmas ever. I will never forget it.

David got an appointment a week ago to the hospital where I work. He gone through an EEG to see if he has any epileptic activities. Some days ago he and Victoria went to the doctor to get the result. It turned out that he actually has a kind of child (mostly boys get it) epilepsy that in most cases will disappear when he gets older. I guess that in the states all his appointments would cost a huge amount of money, and guess what it has cost us (count out the cartravels and time)?

Not a penny! Sweden is great!

13th of December had Hanna and David lucia in kindergarten.

Today (when they use to stay at home) they were invited to kindergarten for christmaslunch. The teachers had made it soooo beautiful. They had set up everything on a childlevel so they could go and get the food they wanted. On every place, on each selfmade heart, stood their names so they should know where to sit. I was impressed!

Apor på axeln

På en annan blogg har det förts en dialog kring hur svåra arbetssituationer kan vara, hur svårt det kan vara att säga nej till nya, konstiga arbetsuppgifter och därmed få en massa nya apor på sina axlar. Min fru skriver bland annat: "Särskilt om det innebär att arbetsuppgifter rasar över på någon annan stackare. Visst, om alla säger nej så fattar till slut chefen. Men när det faktiskt inte finns resurser? Eller när det, trots förstående chef, finns en massa andra människor som förväntar sig saker?Nä. Det är inte så lätt att peta bort aporna från axeln."
Naturligtvis kan det vara mer känsligt i vissa situationer att säga nej, tillexempel om man är anställd i ett litet företag med få anställda. Man kanske får sparken, eller mindre i lön eller vad som helst. Man kanske inte är fackligt ansluten och därmed måste kämpa/förhandla helt på egen hand, vilket kan vara tufft. Det kan vara att man arbetar i en kultur där "nej" inte är ok. Och det kan vara så att det är en såkallad "typisk kvinnofälla".
Vilken chef säger till sin manlige projektansvarige att fixa glödlampor, postitlappar, låsa upp dörrar, läsa tidningar? Eller till läkaren att städa patientsängar, faxa remisser, eller vad som helst annat som för bort fokuset från det viktiga? Det handlar om att rätt person, med rätt utbildning för uppgiften ska utföra handlingen. Allt annat är kontraproduktivt och leder till en för alla nedåtgående spiral av elände. Sluta för allt i världen att tycka synd om någon annan som i så fall får göra uppgiften. Alla chefer är förstående, men det finns ingen chef i världen som inte också har annat för sina ögon. Profit, vinst, besparingar. Fortsätt att inte lyssna på dina egna varningsklockor. Välj att avstå från att påverka. Det har jag slutat med för läääänge sedan.

Danslek

I lördags var det avslutning på Hannas dans. David tog de flesta bilderna, bland annat denna. Han börjar bli riktigt duktig. Jag hade inte kunnat ta så mycket bättre bilder själv.

Nästa termin har vi anmält dem båda till danslek. Ännu tidigare på lördagen...Då kommer vi behöva gå hemifrån vid halv nio!

Idag fick vi information om val av skola för förskoleklass (sexårsverksamhet). Vad tiden går...

Something to laugh about, something you might remember

Art and.....art (?)

Today is the first of advent. What are your traditions this day? Many swedes, including my father-and mother in law, have the tradition to eat lye-fish. It´s a white fish foaked in lye to make it soft and palatable. Tastes nothing unless you spice it with condiment pepper and salt.
My father in law´s brother was there too. He was eager to inform us about the latest in art that he and a friend of his are doing and selling now. Quite interesting I think.

And then.....if you dare, something I would never, ever do! I dare you.

Few of you know that I try to gain some more universitypoints in nursing care. It´s all internetbased, and really good and well done. We had a test a couple of weeks ago and it turned out that I passed that one! As long as that happens I will study on, otherwise I have to put it on hold cause I don´t want this to go out over me, my family and the work.
Last wednesday Hanna, David and I went to trollskogen again. They like it, and so do I.

Yesterday evening David ones again got a seizure. It came from nowhere, without fever. He started to cry in bed, and when I tried to comfort him he just tried to climb on to me for all he could. Finally, when he calmed down, I asked him if he was afraid or had any pain. I wanted him to point out where the pain was, and he showed me his eye and forhead. So I´ll get a doctor to look in to this, and I think I will force him to take a CT.

Next saturday will be the end of this danceterm for Hanna. Next time we´ve got David in to a class as well.

I am quit sure you all know who Bianca Ryan is. I bought her first CD and fell in love with this song. It´s better on the cd of course.

The swedish television has for many years made christmas calendars, miniseries in 24 episodes for children. Some years have been really bad, but I think this one can be ok!
